My daughter Kylie studies the amazing photography in News Photographer’s Best of 2008 issue.

This past Saturday, Kerri and I photographed Brian and Mickie’s wedding in downtown Dallas at Level Two. We all went to the same high school and we have been friends with Mickie for many years. After meeting Brian recently, we are happy to call him a friend now as well. Thank you both for allowing us to be a part of your special day! Congratulations Brian and Mickie! We are so happy for you guys!

Thanks also to Preston (my son) who joined us for the evening to help out with lighting. Preston, you rock!

The results for the ISPWP Winter 2008 Photo Contest are online. Three of my photos from Amy and Israel’s wedding placed in the top ten!

Friend and fellow photographer Aga posted her images from the Golden Gloves event. Check them out here. I think my favorite is the referee holding up the boxer’s hand. The shot from under the table with the tape is a close second.

Aga took this one of me. A wise man once said, “If your photographs aren’t good enough, you’re not close enough.” This though is TOO close. I think my camera is on his back.

The resulting photograph.
